I’m Minister Janie Crawford, founder of Ivory’s Place, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving families across Alachua County since 2012. Through our Ivory’s Alachua County Outreach Program, we meet essential needs and support individuals facing hardship.
My heart for restoration extends into the Alachua County Jail, where I mentor women through the Project Me Program, helping them rebuild confidence, emotional stability, and purpose as they prepare for re‑entry.
Ivory’s Place has also developed a turnkey Transitional Housing Program for women, complete with full operations, structure, and curriculum, ready to launch as partnerships and resources align.
Our work is grounded in compassion and empowerment, affirming that every female, male, child, and family deserves access to stability, dignity, and a restored life of purpose.
PERSONAL JOURNEY
My life has been one of profound transformation. I survived early drug use, living within a drug‑trafficking environment, physical illness, and depression. Through every hardship, God saved my life. He restored me, rebuilt me, and called me into ministry.
I became a Minister, a servant of God, committed to helping others find the same freedom He gave me.
After a devastating car accident that severely impacted my health, God used my healing process to birth purpose.
Over twelve years, I authored a complete Operational Manual for Ivory’s Place Inc., outlining comprehensive programs
including youth and adult mentorship, the Parent Empowerment Program, and a full transitional housing model for
youth, adults, and ex‑offenders.
I also authored the self‑published workbook series “Me.” This series empowers individuals to understand themselves
, heal , and grow. Love and suffering have been my greatest teachers, guiding me into a life of service.
By sharing my story and the programs I’ve created, I hope to help others navigate their own difficult journeys.

PROFESSIONAL JOURNEY
My professional journey spans decades experience in behavioral, special needs, trauma, and correctional environments.
I began my work at Sagamore Children’s Behavioral Center and Suffolk State Psychiatric Hospital in New York,
where I gained deep insight into human behavior, trauma, and resilience.
Later, I continued my commitment to public service in Florida, serving and retiring as a Correctional Officer Sergeant.
These roles reflect my unwavering dedication to community care, structure, and support, and they laid the foundation for the mentorship and empowerment programs I lead today.
OUR MISSION
Ivory’s Place exists to restore hope, rebuild lives, and provide faith‑centered support through outreach, re‑entry programs, youth mentorship, transitional housing, and personal development resources.

To create a community where individuals and families experience healing, stability, and purpose and where every person is reminded that they are seen, valued, and never forgotten.
